The quarry Montesson was used (as often) for the cultivation of mushrooms. Long abandoned, the quarry of building stone has been cut in half during the construction of the highway A14. In 2010, further work has finally destroyed this beautiful part of the quarry.

This is the lowest level of the quarry. The ceiling is low because there is a level just above. The quarrymen have not dug lower because of the proximity to the Seine.

At the end of the quarry, a visitor was amused to redo the cave paintings of Lascaux on dozens and dozens of meters. Very very nice work!

The most famous staircase of Paris. One of the showroom mineralogical layers of Rue Saint Jacques. It has been degraded and restored many times. One thing is sure. It was there before us. It will be there after (even for the weak).
