The SEBILLOTTE quarry was operated from 1838 until 1940. Then, the quarry has been used for growing mushrooms until 1960. There are still beautiful mushroom beds in most rooms of operation.

Sometimes, the quarry collapse inside the walls! It is caused by the gypsum and the water.

The gypsum quarries are often more fragile than those of chalk or limestone and require (although it is only forest above) frequent consolidations.
